Gaining remote access to devices is essential for many industries. If you work within the technology field, you will often use these types of software to provide remote support and troubleshooting on devices that aren’t right in front of you. That’s where Teamviewer and RemotePC come in.

RemotePC DOWNLOAD

Teamviewer is a well-known remote-access software. However, in recent years many competitors have arisen to give this leading provider a run for their money. One such program is RemotePC. Join us as we compare these two programs and then provide a run-through of how to use RemotePC.

RemotePC vs. Teamviewer

Both Teamviewer and RemotePC are great remote desktop software programs. Both are easy to use and available on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android; they also have a web app. Teamviewer, however, is the only one that can connect to IoT and POS devices.

Teamviewer and RemotePC are fairly equally matched when it comes to the features offered. However, Teamviewer does offer impressive meeting and presentation features, such as meeting scheduling, shared calendars, and screen sharing. While not everyone requires these features, and other apps can provide them, having them all in one place is nice.

However, when it comes to support options, RemotePC slightly outperforms Teamviewer. Both offer the same types of support: live support and email support, as well as extensive knowledge bases and FAQs. However, RemotePCs live support is available for a more extended time period from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM daily, and they also offer 24hr chat support. Teamviewer’s live support is available from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The most significant difference between these two programs is the price. Teamviewer can be expensive if used for anything other than a sizable technical support center. Yes, Teamviewer does offer a free personal account, but if you’ve used the program for a while, you might start getting an error stating that they detected commercial use on your account. This is a way of pushing you to buy a subscription. While RemotePC doesn’t have a free version available and only provides a 30-day trial on their more expensive packages, they are still much cheaper than any of Teamviewer’s packages.

So basically, if you’re looking for affordable remote access software, then RemotePC is the best option. If you need to provide support to many different users and devices that include IoT and POS systems, then Teamviewer is the way to go.

How to use RemotePC

  1. Create an account on RemotePC.com

First, you’ll need to create an account by accessing the RemotePC website. You’ll also have to choose your package from the available options during this process.

  2. Install RemotePC App

Once you’ve created your account, the RemotePC app will automatically be downloaded to your current device. Run the execution file for it from your downloads folder and follow the on-screen prompts in the installation wizard.

  3. Open and log in to the RemotePC app

Open the newly installed RemotePC app from your computer and log in using the account details you used to register your account. You’ll be taken to the home screen, and it’ll be blank for now.

  4. Add computer(s) to RemotePC account

Add the computer or device you’re working on by clicking on ‘Configure Now’ to add your active computer to the account easily. The program will guide you through adding the device to your account. We also recommend setting up individual keys for each device to ensure they remain secure.

You will have to do this for each computer you want to access. So if you want to be able to access your work computer from home, you need to add both to the account. So, if you’re part of the IT department for a company, you’ll need to add your support computer, as well as all other computers that you’ll need to be able to access, to your account.

  5. Connect to any device remotely

To log in to any of your devices remotely, you simply log in to the RemotePC app, and on the home screen, you’ll see all your connected devices. You’ll also be able to see if that device is online or not. If the device is online and you want to access it remotely, you simply click on ‘Connect.’ A copy of the device’s desktop will appear on your screen, and you can navigate across the PC as if you were right in front of it.

Get remote access quickly and easily with RemotePC

RemotePC is an affordable remote desktop access program that includes the basic features you expect and a bunch of features you might not have thought possible at the price point. It is an easy program to learn for personal use or even for large companies. They also offer many customer support options, from FAQs and guides to navigating simple issues and live chat, telephone, email, and even video support for more complex problems.

Since leaving school I immediately started working and have been involved in many different industries where I learned a wide range of skills. Some of my skills range from marketing to management and even teaching special needs children, particularly those with severe developmental delays. I am a self-proclaimed holiday nut, taking any chance I can get to decorate and celebrate major holidays such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas, often planning these months in advance! I have a wide range of passions that I persue (as often as I can) such as reading, writing, bonsai, crafting, creating natural beauty products, listening to music and playing games (prefered platforms being PC and Xbox).
